Global EXPO – Trade Fair and Congress Center is the second life of the Warsaw factory: FSO, which was once a symbol of the Polish automotive industry.

The facility, located in Warsaw’s Żerań, at the busiest transport hub in Warsaw, combined the unique atmosphere of storage halls from the 1970s with modern technical solutions, turning into a modern trade fair and congress center, maintained in a post-industrial atmosphere.

Due to the limited budget, we tried to use what we found in the hall – the structure of the building, old cranes, lamps. In accordance with the eco trend, we have renovated these elements and restored them to their former glory. As a result, not only did the space retain its unique, industrial atmosphere, but it was also created with respect for the environment.

The interior of Global Expo fits perfectly into the post-industrial aesthetics – the severity of concrete and steel is broken here with saturated colors – steel structures are painted yellow and red, which adds character to the space. The whole is complemented by modern additions – fancy benches, renovated lighting, and visible ventilation pipes that perfectly match the atmosphere of the former production hall.

It was here that icons such as Syrena, Polonez or Fiat were created. In 2011, the production was stopped and the area remained partially undeveloped.

As part of the revitalization project adapting the post-industrial areas of FSO, while maintaining elements referring in design to the industrial history of the place, we were looking for solutions that would respond to the expectations of the meetings industry – giving the possibility of implementing the most sophisticated event creations. We focused on the multi-functionality of the space and the modern business needs of the organizers.

The area of the Global Expo can be divided into smaller modules with a soundproof wall – with an area of 7.4 thousand square meters. and 4.7 thous. m². Heavy equipment or even average-sized planes can easily brought into the hall, due to wide unloading gates or a several-ton freight lift, which remained from the former factories.

The Global EXPO Trade Fair and Congress Center is a facility that offers the possibility of organizing all kinds of business and cultural events, such as: fairs, international congresses, conferences, symposiums, concerts, galas, exhibitions, performances, shows, press conferences, product launches and corporate events.

The new investment is not only a fair and conference center
Ultimately, a hotel with 150 rooms will operate as part of the multifunctional complex. The building will also house a permanent exhibition area with a construction and decoration offer (27,000 m²) and offices all year round.
